The collection was born at
the beginning of the 80s thanks to Sergio Sciarpetti's passion for
scooter. Along the years a lot of precious and the very unique pieces
have been collected all over Europe , coming from old stores and second
hand markets, auction sales and exchange exhibitions. The collection
now counts 70 big pieces, the oldest of them from the beginning of the
'900. Here we have the famous national brand Vespa and lambretta and
also rare foreign scooters. Plus, a stunning number of memorabilia.
Sergio Sciarpetti, the collector, has beenfond of scooter since is
first youth. He was 14 when he had his first Vespa 50R as a gift and he
used to spend the most of his spare time in his uncle's Piaggio Store
at the time.
But
his love for old scooters has also something to do with the passion for
la dolce vita of the 50s and 60s and for italian design. Sergio bought
the first piece of the collection, a Vespa 125 from the 1955, answering
to an ad of a local newspaper for 40.000 lire. That was just beginning
of a big love.
